Principal Investigator's/Project Director's Responsibility

The PI must confirm students' eligibility before they begin participating in a grant-related program.

The PI must verify student status, payroll status, and service requirements to appoint a trainee for a stipend. See Guidance Concerning Charging to Federally Awards Memorandum for further details.

Have copies on file of the applications of selected participants, with documentation detailing how participants met the selection criteria.

To ensure compliance with sponsor, CUNY, and QCC policies, submit a draft of the award letter to the Office of Grants/Sponsored Programs for review and approval before providing a copy to the participant. The award letter must include participation dates, sponsor eligibility criteria, and program requirements on departmental letterhead.

Keep a complete list of program participants and documentation, including dates and times of their participation in the program.

To monitor payment status and ensure that students have received their payments, log on to the RFCUNY Website using your three-character user ID and password to view the Web Report.
