Our courses are designed to maximize the value of the education we provide and the success of all our students. Whether you are starting at Queensborough, continuing with us, or visiting from another institution, we invite you to apply today to start earning college credit that will get you where you want to go. Don't delay. Classes start January 29!
Any student registering after January 29, 2021 will be charged a $25 late registration fee.

Step 1: Complete An Application
Please Note: If you are a student who has completed all or part of your education outside the United States and U.S. territories, you have missed the deadline for spring 2021 (September 15th) and can apply for fall 2021 (February 1st). Please see CUNY's Undergraduate Admissions page for more information.
Freshman
If you hold a regular or local high school diploma, or a New York State Equivalency Diploma (HSE/GED) and you have not yet attended college or any post-secondary institution including a business, trade or technical school, you'll need to file the Freshman application for admission. If you are currently attending a NYC DOE high school, be sure to enter your nine-digit OSIS number in the ‘High School/Secondary' section of the Admission Application, which will enable us to retrieve your transcript electronically.
Freshman application fee - $65.00 (USD) - Payable by credit card, check or money order
Queensborough grants transfer credits for college level courses taken while in high school. There are three different wants you can earn college credit:
- By earning a score of 3 or better on any AP exam
- By having earned college credits in CUNY's College Now program
- By having earned a C or better in a college level course at a non-CUNY college

Transfers
You're a transfer student if you've completed course work or are currently enrolled at an undergraduate college or other post-secondary institution including a business, trade or technical school. If you're a transfer student, you'll need to file the Transfer application for admission.
Transfer application fee - $70 (USD) – Payable by credit card, check or money order
There is no application fee for current CUNY students.
Successful Transfer applicants will be in good academic standing at their current or former institution and will have achieved a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale.
Students interested in pursuing Nursing at Queensborough Community College must first be admitted to QCC and must complete the Pre-Clinical sequence with a minimum GPA of 3.0. For additional requirements please consult the Nursing Department's page on our website.

Many students earn college credit while in high school. These credits can come from any College courses while in high school or completed an Advanced Placement (AP) with a score of 3 or better. See the list of AP Test Exams and Credits accepted at Queensborough.
College credit for courses taken elsewhere will be only granted for:

Courses that are applicable towards the student's chosen curriculum at Queensborough.

Courses taken at the undergraduate level from accredited degree-granting institutions only.

In general, grades of “C“ or better from Non-CUNY Colleges or Universities are considered for transfer credit. In some cases however, courses may not be used to satisfy specific curriculum requirements.

In general, grades of “D” or better from CUNY colleges are considered for transfer credit. In some cases however, courses may not be used to satisfy specific curriculum requirements.

For courses completed at an accredited college or university outside the U.S., a formal evaluation by the appropriate academic department is mandatory. Under no circumstance is credit awarded without department approval.

Transfer students pursuing an Associate's Degree may NOT receive more than 30 transfer credits from institutions previously attended. A maximum of 15 credits are accepted towards a certificate program at Queensborough.

Transfer students must also meet the requirements for the CUNY Assessment Tests. (Refer to the Testing section.)

Transfer credits are not calculated as part of the student's Grade Point Average (GPA).
In order to review your possible credits, please submit official college transcripts or an official AP score report to the Office of Admissions.

Step 2: Send Your Transcripts Directly To Us
Most high schools and colleges are working remotely or with a limited staff. The quickest and easiest way for us to complete your application is to have your transcripts sent to us directly through email.
Freshman:
- If you are currently attending a NYC DOE high school, be sure to enter your nine-digit OSIS number in the ‘High School/Secondary’ section of the Admission Application, which will enable us to retrieve your transcript electronically.
- If you do not attend a NYC DOE school, contact your local high school and request that a transcript be emailed to our admissions office at admissions@qcc.cuny.edu.
Transfer:
- Many colleges use electronic services such as Parchment, TranscriptsPlus, Credentials Transcripts Network, National Clearinghouse etc. When using these services, request that a transcript be emailed to our admissions office at admissions@qcc.cuny.edu.
- If you have a transcript sent directly to you, we cannot consider it official. Be sure you have it sent directly to our office.

Step 3: Connect With A Counselor

Once you have completed an application and submitted your transcripts you will get a personal invitation from one of our enrollment counselors to help you with the final steps of the enrollment process. We have a support team that is ready to cheer you on and help you enroll in more than 40 award-winning degree programs.

Prohibition On Submission Of Fraudulent Admission Documents:
The submission of documents in support of applications for admission such as transcripts, diplomas, test scores, references, or the applications themselves, that are forged, fraudulent, altered from the original, obtained under false pretenses, or otherwise deceptive is prohibited and is punishable by a five year bar on applying for admission or five year suspension from CUNY. A second violation is punishable by a lifetime ban on applying for admission or expulsion from CUNY.
