Reporting Emergency Situations
To reach the Department of Public Safety:
- From a campus telephone, dial Ext. 6320.
- Otherwise, dial (718) 631-6320.
- Locate a Red or Blue Light Emergency Phone.
To reach a New York City Police Operator:
- From a campus telephone, dial 9-1-1.
- Otherwise, dial 9-1-1.
To report an emergency:
- Immediately call the Public Safety Dispatcher and the NYPD and say: "This is an emergency."
- State the nature of emergency.
- Provide the number from which you are calling.
- Provide the location of the emergency.
- Unless there is an immediate threat to you, do not hang up until instructed to do so.
REMEMBER: Always be alert and aware of your surroundings and project a confident attitude.

Campus Access
All staff, faculty, and current registered students must present a valid Queensborough Community College “TigerCard” ID. For your convenience, the TigerCard ID is now available in the QCC Connect mobile app.
To access the campus premises, visitors must provide valid government-issued photo identification and demonstrate an official purpose for their presence upon registering with Public Safety.
It is mandatory for visitors to retain their guest pass, if provided, throughout their visit and be prepared to present it upon the request of any college official.

Saturday and Sunday: 7 AM — Last scheduled class
Emergency Equipment and Notification Systems
Red Security Phones are strategically placed inside of campus buildings and provide immediate access to a public safety officer 24 hours a day, 7-days a week.
Blue Light Phones are strategically placed on campus grounds and provide immediate access to a public safety officer 24 hours a day, 7-days a week.

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act)
In accordance with the provisions of the Jeanne Clery Act, Queensborough Community College's Annual Security Report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in certain off-campus buildings owned or controlled by Queensborough Community College; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from the campus. The report also includes institutional policies concerning campus security, such as policies concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters.

The Queensborough Community College Advisory Committee on Campus Safety will provide upon request all campus crime statistics as reported to the United States Department of Education. This information can also be obtained directly from the United States Department of Education’s webpage at https://ope.ed.gov/campussafety.
Please contact the Queensborough Community College Department of Public Safety at 718-631-6320 if assistance with acquiring a copy of the College’s Annual Security Report and/or the campus crime statistics is needed. The College will mail a hard copy of the campus crime statistics consistent with the reporting requirements of Title 20 of the U.S. Code Section 1092(f) within ten days of the request.

Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) are strategically located in college buildings throughout campus and in Public Safety vehicles (see below). In addition to Public Safety personnel, other key college employees have received training in their use.
Public Safety personnel are also trained in basic first aid, as well as in administering CPR.
