Student Group Requirements
To become a recognized Student Group at Queensborough Community College (QCC), Student Groups must submit an application and be approved by the QCC Ratification Committee. The student group application can be accessed through this link:

To complete the process, the student group will need:
- Club Name
- Mission Statement
- Constitution (sample https://www.qcc.cuny.edu/studentActivities/docs/sample-club-constitution..pdf)
- Club Advisor (Full Time Staff or Faculty Member)
- 3 Club Officers (President, Vice President and Senator).
- ESPARC for Advisor and SPARC for Club Officers (must be from current academic year)
- A total of 10 student members (includes Club Officers)
Groups are first approved by the QCC Ratification Committee and then allocated funds through the QCC Allocation Committee. Please contact Ms. Gisela Rivera at GRivera@qcc.cuny.edu or Mr. Raymond Volel at RVolel@qcc.cuny.edu to receive further instructions regarding approval of clubs.
Club Advisor Role:
A Club Advisor serves as a campus resource, support person and a facilitator for students, helping them to define and achieve the goals of the group. In some cases, clubs can choose to have a Co-Advisor. QSA/SGA will only recognize one Co-Advisor. Advisors can only be an Advisor for one club each semester. Club Advisors may be full-time faculty members, administrators, staff or college laboratory technicians. The Office of Student Activities must be informed if a Club Advisor is replaced. - Enjoy working with students.
- Take the initiative in creating teamwork and cooperation within the club.
- Have a personal commitment to enhancing campus life.
- Be knowledgeable of college and university policies and procedures.
- Be willing to spend time getting to know students in an informal setting.
- Assist students to achieve the group’s goals.
- Be available during Club Hours (Wednesdays from 12:10-2:10pm)
QSA Student Group Officer Qualifications
To be an Officer of a QSA Student Group the following Academic Qualifications must be met:

Must be a Registered Student at Queensborough Community College.

Must be Matriculated at Queensborough Community College.

Must have a minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.0 to hold Office.

Must have completed a minimum of twelve (12) College Credits and/or Equated Credits.

Must carry a minimum of six (6) Credits and/or Chargeable Hours while holding Office.

Must have completed and earned passing grades (i.e., A, B, C, D) in at least 50 percent of the Credits for which the student registered for the prior semester at Queensborough Community College, but in no event, less than three (3) Credits. If more than 50 percent of the credits attempted are either F, W, WU, INC, ABS, etc., the student is no longer allowed to hold Office for a QSA Student Group.
As per the Constitution of the Queensborough Student Association "All benefits, privileges, and members of the QSA provides shall be open to all QSA members regardless of race, gender, creed, color, religion, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, and/or veteran status." (Article I, Section III)
