Philosophy Club

Our Purpose:

The QCC Philosophy Club is dedicated to curious thinkers who seek deeper engagement with philosophical ideas, critical thinking, and open dialogue. We want to create a space where students can freely express their thoughts, challenge perspectives, and personify a greater understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Purpose of the Club

  • To provide a judgement-free environment where students can engage in meaningful discussions on philosophy, psychology, ethics, and the art of discourse.
  • To help students develop critical thinking skills by continuously introducing and debating new ideas, building upon past conversations to inspire intellectual growth.
  • To encourage members to express themselves authentiically fostering diverse perspectives and unique ways of thinking.
  • To position ourselves within the marketplace of ideas, challenging superficial conversations, and exploring deeper questions about existence, morality, and society.

Services and Activities Provided

  • Open Discussions & Debates - A platform for students to share their thoughts, explore big philosophical questions, and analyze different viewpoints.
  • Workshops on Critical Thinking & Intellectual Curiosity - Structured Meetings that encourage students to think beyond conventional wisdom and engage in authentic intellectual discourse.
  • Community-Building Events - Creating a network of students passionate about philosophy, psychology, and ethics.
  • Guest Lecturers & Faculty Involvement - Inviting Professors and Guest Speakers to share insights and guide discussions.
  • Philosophical Exploration through Media - Analyzing philosophical themes in literature, film, and contemporary issues to make philosophy more engaging.
