2018-2019 Common Read
The AY 2018-19 Official Common Read Book Selection is "The Good Food Revolution: Growing Healthy Food, People, and Communities" by Will Allen. Mr. Allen, a pioneer in the urban farming movement, tells the inspiring story of how one individual can impact a community through healthy and sustainable foods that not only nourish the body but inspire the imagination. Queensborough faculty members and their students will read The Good Food Revolution in classes in the Spring 2019 semester. All students will participate in co-curricular activities. This year’s Common Read theme is nourishment and the various ways in which individuals and communities find nourishment. This theme provides faculty in all disciplines the opportunity to incorporate the text according to their own area of interest and scholarship. The Common Read sponsors cross-disciplinary events that provide participating faculty and students additional opportunities to engage socially and academically outside the classroom, while supporting the learning in each individual class.
