Winter Schedule:
December 23, 2024 – January 24, 2025
Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. when the college is open.|There will be no evening hours during the Winter.

All services in the Counseling Center will be remote on:
Thursday & Friday December 26th & 27th
Thursday & Friday January 2nd & 3rd

For immediate support:
Students may contact the Crisis Lifeline, your connection to free, confidential mental health support. Speak to a counselor by calling or texting 988.  You may also chat online and get access to mental health and substance use services, in more than 200 languages, 24/7/365.

In a psychiatric or medical emergency, call 911 or visit your nearest hospital emergency room. If you have suicidal thoughts, call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline at 988.

If the Counseling Center is closed, and a QCC student tells you that they are thinking about suicide, call QCC Public Safety at 718-631-6320

Mission & Goals

Mission

The mission of Queensborough Community College’s Counseling Center is to provide quality services that support the intellectual, emotional, social, and vocational development of the diverse student population enrolled at the college. Counselors offer a wide range of services including teaching students the essential skills to maximize their potential and enhance their academic performance. To achieve these goals, counselors are active members of the college community who interact and collaborate with college administrators, faculty, college communities and all support services. In conducting their professional activities counselors participate in professional development, and maintain the highest ethical standards while preserving the confidential nature of the counseling relationship.
