  1. Meeting called to order by chairperson at 12:00 PM
  2. Approval of previous meeting minutes (12/8/22)-approved
  3. Arthur Corradetti was welcomed as the new OAA representative
  4. Prof Monahan thanked everyone for working on the eLearning newsletter
  5. For future newsletter, feel free to reach out to Nishat for assistance
  6. Anthony checked on a student representative – he has “put in” to have a student representative, it’s up to a student which committee they participate in
  7. Leah Anderst had reached out to the eLearning committee about an issue with Blackboard. She was concerned that blackboard instructors can no longer add people to blackboard courses themselves. Denis Bejar explained that it’s a legal issue as per FERPA (a law that protects student privacy). Denis Bejar and Sandra Palmer will come up with an official policy on how to handle requests for adding users to Blackboard courses. He also stated that the peer observation process will not be affected by this.
  8. Next meeting will be April 26th, and voting for chair and secretary will take place. This meeting will be in person and location is TBA.
  9. Anthony discussed that it’s time to start thinking about next eLearning newsletter.
  10. Daniel Garbin will write something on using cloud computing for computer science
  11. Daniel Garbin asked about how to disseminate this more widely. Punita Bhansali suggested to speak to Marketing.
  12. Anthony included instructions how to submit an article on the newsletter (in the email sent out on 3/2/2023) and shared the instructions on the screen.
  13. Committee Guide and Addendum – Arthur, Shenaz, and Anthony will work on this together (they will have to meet separately to work on these items)
  14. Humberto discussed the QM course which he took in December. He mentioned that the timeline felt rushed because as soon as you start, you have two weeks to complete it, but he loved the course. Humberto will write about the QM course for the eLearning newsletter.

Next Meeting: April 26th, 12:00 PM (in person)

Respectfully submitted by:

Punita Bhansali
