The Academic Senate Committee on eLearning met on December 8, 2022 at 4:00 PM RFK-216,Zoom

Business:

The meeting was called to order at 4:00 PM

 

  1. Meeting called to order by chairperson
  2. Approval of previous meeting minutes-approved
  3. Teaching Excellence Award Committee update: eLearning committee representative: Celia Sponer-
  4. Through Title V, Quality Matters (QM) certification course (2-week course)- Humberto is taking this course now and will provide the committee with feedback.
  5. Faculty Surveyed on experiences with teaching asynchronous and synchronous classes. Tony open floor discussion regarding experiences with asynchronous courses.  Discussion surrounded student’s preparation and need for pre-requisites, financial implications for students, etc. 
  6. e-Learning newsletter. 

Members were given instructions on how to upload their writings to Recap.

                Humberto and Tony will work on visual effects of newsletter

                Tony and Humberto-on Hyflex interviews with Susan Lago and Christina Manzo

               Shenaz will upload effective notetaking

                                Daniel one program that he is familiar with

  1. Tony emailed Steven Dahlke about the process to add student representative to eLearning committee. Will update committee members once information is obtained.
