Business:

The meeting was called to order at 9:00AM

  1. The agenda was approved.
  2. The minutes of the 10/17/24 meeting were approved without corrections.
  3. Review assigned communication with Committee Chairs, discussing problems encountered.
No issues so far. Most members have contacted their assigned Commitees.
  4. Explanation of process of assignment of faculty to Committees in Spring 2025.
See Committee Guide Addendum on website.
List of eligible people (all teaching and non-teaching faculty) comes from IT/HR (Raj Vaswani/Martha Weller); email linking to Committee preferences poll sent to them. People choose their top 3 choices, and the CoC gets a spreadsheet of the results.
CoC is the only Committee not elected this way- there is a special vote at May Senate meeting- see Guide Addendum. (Budget committee is also not elected this way.)

For the Senate elections also in Feb/Mar, BigPulse is used. CoC is reclaiming the operation of this election from the Steering Committee which conducted it the past several years. Dahlke will lead this effort. He has a document which outlines the process. Other CoC members can also work with him to learn it. This process is absent from our Committee Guide Addendum, and should be added.
  5. Old business.
    None.
  6. New business.

Carolyn King was appointed to the Bylaws Committee.
Marc Amsterdam will be asked to serve as the Cultural Affairs Committee President’s designee since he (effectively, interim) replaced Susan Agin.
CoC must send this to the Senate as a monthly report.
Kolack will add our meeting time (Thursdays, 9AM) to the website.

Birchfield had a question about last year’s annual report. Dahlke will reach out to her, and Kolack will confirm there is not a blank template that was published
The meeting was adjourned at 9:55AM.

Respectfully submitted by:

Kevin Kolack
