The meeting was called to order at 1:05PM

  1. Attendance
  2. Review Committee meeting minutes Feb 26, 2025 – approved without corrections
  3. ADC Guide - review
    https://www.qcc.cuny.edu/governance/academicSenate/adeap/reports/Committee-Guide-Addendum.html
According to the Bylaws & Guide, this committee should be “members of the instructional staff” and there are several advisors who were asked to serve currently doing so. Either the Bylaws & Guide need to be changed or the committee composition. (CoC ballot has no additional advisors or HEOs.) Current HEO members of the committee feel they have valuable input for this committee, serve as volunteers only (it does not impact their promotion). Kolack will ask the Steering Committee for the history of this restriction. It is possibly due to the “oversight” this Committee is charged with providing advisement.
See definition of "instructional staff" for clarification - “the instructional staff comprises all full-time and part-time teaching faculty titles and non-teaching titles, including the college laboratory technician (CLT) title series and the higher education officer (HEO) title series.”
  4. Workshop ideas discussion
    None upcoming.
  5. Old business
There remains no mechanism for students who withdraw from a class due to a “bad professor” to evaluate the faculty. RateMyProfessor.com is valued as trustworthy and has more impact than the faculty evaluations. More transparency is needed regarding faculty training (ACUE, etc.), for example.
  6. New business
Not sure when the faculty evaluation period will be this semester. Kolack will ask Marketing.
Accessibility committee met yesterday (Akpinar is a member)- surveyed students about their needs; will share results with this committee; will add their questions to our survey for the next deployment (Fall?); co-sponsor a workshop for faculty regarding services available for accessibility and attitudes toward students with disabilities
    Next meeting TBA
Meeting adjourned 1:55PM.

Respectfully submitted by:

Kevin Kolack
