How College Now Works
College Now at QCC offers NYC public high school juniors and seniors various types of classes to help them prepare for college life: college preparatory workshops and credit college level courses. Students whose academic skills do not meet the college-readiness standard can take College Focus or college preparatory courses. Upon successful completion of preparatory courses, students may register to take college level courses until they graduate from high school. Students may take up to 12 credits while in high school.
High School juniors and seniors who meet the eligibility requirements will have the opportunity to take classes for college credit.
Eligibility
All students must be NYC public school high school juniors or seniors.
Most courses are available only to students in partner schools.
Some courses may have prerequisites. Eligibility requirements for individual courses can be found here.
High school students will be identified and recommended by their College Now high school liaison, and/or other personnel. Students who are interested in taking College Now courses can also ask their high school liaison or guidance counselor. College Now high school liaisons will determine a student’s eligibility for various courses.
