Course Description in college catalog:

Principles of economics applied to contemporary economic issues, such as inflation and unemployment, urban affairs and discrimination, poverty and welfare programs, externalities and taxation policies, budget deficits and national debt, and international aid and trade. This course is issue-oriented, rather than technically-oriented, and is designed for students who want to familiarize themselves with contemporary national and international economic issues and concerns.

1. This course will advance student's knowledge on the contemporary American and global economic issues. Students will learn the underlying dynamics of such issues-how they affect individual lives, national and international policies and how to use economic principles and tools to make rational economic decisions in confronting such issues.

Students learning will be evaluated on the basis of exams, assignments, quizzes, class discussions, and term papers.
