Required Text: Durand, M. & Barlow, D. Essentials of Abnormal Psychology. 3rd Edition. Thomson/Wadsworth, 2003
Optional Material: Santogrossi, D. Study Guide for "Essentials of Psychology". Thomson/Wadsworth, 2003
Requirements: The requirements for the course include the chapters in the textbook indicated on the following pages, class handouts, plus anything discussed in class.
Exams and Grade: Three exams are given during the semester. Each exam is given equal weight, with your final grade being the average of the three exam scores. Dates for each exam are listed on the following pages. It is important that you take each exam when given. Unless a prior arrangement is made or there is a certifiable medical emergency, there will no make-ups for missed exams. In addition, please note that cheating on tests is a serious offense. Anyone caught cheating shall receive an automatic "F" for that test and may receive an "F" for the course. Once your final grade is handed in it will not be changed. Your final grade will be determined by using the following grading scheme:

55% or less | F |
Attendance: Attendance is a New York state requirement. You are expected to attend every class and to be on time. Six (6) excused absences are allowed. Two latenesses count as one absence. Anything in excess of this will lower your final numerical score by one (1) point per absence or may result in an unofficial withdrawal from the class with a grade of WU.
