Double-Blind Peer Review Guidelines
The QCC URJ strives to review submissions in a fair manner and without bias. To do this, the QCC URJ uses double-blind review, where the identity of the reviewers and the authors are concealed.
To create your blinded manuscript:
- Remove all authors names and affiliations from under the Title of your manuscript.
- When citing work previously published by your Principal Investigator, use the third person narrative (i.e. without the use of ‘I’ or ‘we’).
- In your reference list, replace any reference with the authors names with, ‘Reference concealed for double-blind review.’
Example
Although the membrane of cauda derived sperm cells remains stable, the efflux experienced during transit prepares the cells to respond to the change in environment upon ejaculation and entry into the female reproductive tract (1, 2).
- Reference concealed for double-blind review.
- Gadella BM, Van Gestel RA. Bicarbonate and its role in mammalian sperm function. Animal reproduction science. 2004;82-83:307-19.
- Do not include acknowledgement.
- Save and submit your blinded manuscript using the file name [NEED TO COME UP WITH AN IDENTIFIER]
