Gail Lewis is a CUNY grad. Her research interest is in political communication.
Recently, she served as moderator to the NYC Department of Health’s Queens Town Hall on Covid-19 to assist in health communications to Queens County and communities of color. Additionally, she recently moderated a series of Inter-Generational Conversations About A Sustainable Queens, sponsored by a grant from Public Agenda and Eastern Queens Alliance. Gail had the privilege of serving as Director of the longest-running English-language Caribbean-American talk show, Caribbean Classroom, and hosts QPTV’s Communication Corner. Gail serves as Chair to A Better Jamaica, where she promotes activities designed to strengthen access to The Arts in historically underserved Jamaica, Queens. Programs include The Jamaica Dance Festival, Jamaica Classic Film Fridays, Jamaica Arts Council Holiday Music Festival, Jamaica Shoots Photography Program, The Air Train Jazz Festival, and The Jamaica Morning Drum Circle. These free arts programs are funded through grants, and by local, state, and federal elected officials to bring arts programming directly to the diverse neighborhoods that make up Jamaica, Queens.
Lastly, as a record-setting eight-time Toastmasters Public Speaking Champion in impromptu and evaluation speaking, and as a proud member of the National Association of University Women, Gail hopes to inspire her students to become effective public speakers and digital content creators, so they are able to tell their own stories through their own diverse lenses.
