Become A Member

To become a member of the Lambda Sigma Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa ("PTK") International Honor Society at Queensborough Community College ("QCC"), students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Possess a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher
  • Completed 15 or more QCC credits
  • Be a matriculated (seeking a degree) student
  • Be a currently enrolled QCC student

Eligible students will be sent an email to their Office365 student email account a few weeks after the start of every fall and spring semester inviting them to join the honor society. If you did not receive an invitation but, meet the eligibility requirements listed above and are interested in joining the honor society, send us an email to PTK@qcc.cuny.edu and an invitation will be sent to you. In your email, be sure to include your full name and 8-digit EMPL ID# so we can identify you as a QCC student. Lastly, a one-time membership fee of $65 must be paid online when you complete the online membership application.

Note: The deadline to join the honor society during the winter/spring 2025 semester is Saturday, May 31, 2025!
