The course is a survey course for physics majors. It will cover an overview of the physics major and the topics that physicists study. It will also examine current events in physics and students will study and present relevant topics in physics effecting our world.

This is an introduction to the physics major course. It is needed to introduce students to the physics major and allow them to understand better what a physicist does, what topics they might be able to study and what to expect as a physics major.

Methods by which student learning will be assessed and evaluated; describe the types of methods to be employed; note whether certain methods are required for all sections:

Weekly presentations will be done by the students where a series of peer and instructor evaluations will be completed. Responses to reflection questions regarding the presentations will also be required.
