Queensborough Male Resource Center Announces Ribbon Cutting for The Vault

Published: October 21, 2024

Bayside, NY – The Queensborough Male Resource Center (MRC) is excited to announce The Vault's grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony, a new initiative designed to support student success through accessible business attire and skill development. The event will take place on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Upper Level of the Student Union.

The Vault was created as a valuable resource for students from all disciplines. Modeled after the successful online service Rent the Runway, The Vault will allow students to rent business outfits for interviews, networking events, and academic presentations. In addition to clothing rentals, The Vault will host programming focused on developing soft skills essential for successful job placement and academic achievement.

“As we continue to prepare our students for success, we express the importance of their appearance in making a positive impression,” said Jamal Biggs, MRC Director. “It’s essential that students feel good about how they look as it will influence how they present themselves in various settings. This closet sets our students up to feel confident in any room that they walk into.

The MRC has made it a priority to ensure the students it serves have the resources that support what they say they need most. The creation of The Vault comes directly from student feedback and conversations about obstacles that prevent them from achieving their goals.

Join us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate this exciting new resource and learn more about how The Vault will enhance the MRC’s offerings. Light refreshments will be served, and students, faculty, and community members are all invited to attend.
