About the QCC Male Resource Center

The Queensborough Male Resource Center is dedicated to increasing the retention and graduation rates of male students, with a particular focus on self-identified Black and Latino males who are disproportionately impacted by opportunity barriers along their academic journey. The Queensborough Male Resource Center's programs and activities will be open to all Queensborough students, faculty and staff, without regard to race, gender, national origin, and other characteristics. The Queensborough Male Resource Center is a one-stop student services center where male students from all disciplines can come together to interact, learn, grow and build successful traits towards their personal and professional goals in life. We aim to provide students with all the tools and culturally responsive resources and programming necessary to address our members’ specific needs. We are dedicated to preparing each student to become leaders and innovators in their communities and in the world.

The Vault

The Vault is an initiative designed to support student success through accessible business attire and skill development.

“As we continue to prepare our students for success, we express the importance of their appearance in making a positive impression,” said Jamal Biggs, MRC Director. “It’s essential that students feel good about how they look as it will influence how they present themselves in various settings. This closet sets our students up to feel confident in any room that they walk into.”

“Ideally, we would like students to make an appointment to browse the closet but we understand that last-minute opportunities come up so we want to help in any way we can to assist them pick out what they would like to wear.”

Donations are accepted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00pm-5:00pm. The clothing that is accepted are new/gently used suits, blazers, dress pants, polo shirts, ties, blouses, and dresses. Shoes will be available however donations are not accepted for shoes.
