The Academic Senate Committee on CURRICULUM COMMITTEE met on May 16 , 2023 at 2:10 pm via Zoom


Committee Members in Attendance:

Adair, A. (Secretary), Akpinar, R., Flaherty, B., Fox-Herron, D., Fragopoulos, G., Hemraj-Benny, T., Lizzul, I. (Chair), Mason, K., Shekoyan, V.

Absent: Sullivan, N., Vasquez, C. (Student Representative)


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:10 PM

  1.  Approval of the Minutes of the April 25, 2023 meeting.

 

  1. New members were welcomed.

 

  1. Elections were held for Committee Chair & Secretary for AY 23-24.

 

  1. New business included:

        -a proposal to continue online Zoom meetings. For this committee, with the many visitors from various departments speaking to their proposals & the review, including real-time updates of submitted materials, online meetings have proven to be the most efficient, effective, & successful.

        -a proposal for more effective communication to Chairs with instructions on how to correctly submit proposals. Most submissions are not following the stated guidelines.

        -a proposal to update the committee webpage, most notably, the forms & documents page, in the name of clarity.

        -a proposal to update forms to fillable PDFs, digital submission, or other more efficient manner to avoid continued improper submission of materials.

 Adjourned:      2:29 PM

 Actions: The committee unanimously voted for Lizzul, I. to continue as Committee Chair & Shekoyan, V. to take on the role as Secretary.
