The Academic Senate Committee on CURRICULUM COMMITTEE met on October 29, 2024 at 2:05 pm via Zoom


Committee Members in Attendance:

Jeffrey Ballerini, Ingrid Jaramillo Estrella, Bonnie Flaherty, George Fragopoulos, Tirandai Hemraj-Benny (Secretary), Vazgen Shekoyan (Chair), Nathaniel Sullivan, Michael Pullin (Academic Affairs), Leslie Ward

Also in Attendance:  Franca Ferrari (Communication, Theatre & Media Production), Belle Birchfield (Engineering Technology), Wei Lai (Modern Languages and Cultures), Jose Osorio (Modern Languages and Cultures), Bjorn Berkhout (Music), Neeraj Mehta (Music).        


Business:

The meeting was called to order at 2:05 PM

  • The committee welcomed Franca Ferrari from the Department of Communication, Theatre & Media Production to discuss the revision of the Communications Concentration of LA-AA - Liberal Arts and Sciences program. The proposal was considered and was passed unanimously.
  • The committee welcomed Belle Birchfield from the Department of Engineering Technology to discuss changing the pre and co-requisites for ET 575 Intro. to C++ Programming Design and Implementation and ET 760 Ethical Hacking and Penetration Testing. The proposals were considered and were passed unanimously.
  • The committee welcomed Wei Lai and Jose Osorio from the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures to discuss a new course, LC 401 Chinese Culture and Society. The proposal was considered and was passed unanimously.
  • The committee welcomed Bjorn Berkhout and Neeraj Mehta from the Department of Music to discuss the revision of the following courses: MUS 201, 471, 472, 473, and 474. The proposals were considered and were passed unanimously.
  • The committee approved the minutes of the October 1, 2024, meeting.

   

   The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 PM.
