The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Course & Standings met on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Room # A-104


Committee Members in Attendance:

Chair Dr. Fei Ye, Math Department;

Prof. Gina Capozzoli, Counseling;

Business:

The meeting was called to order at October 25, 2019 at 10:00 a.m

Emiko Sanchez new Registrar introduce herself to The Committee.  The Committee welcomed her and introduced themselves.  Dr. Fei Ye gave a description of what The Committee on Course and Standing does.

 

Topics discussed with Committee Members:

 

  1. Brief updates to the charge form; no actions are needed.
  2. List of Frequently used comments; will continue to add and improve list.
  3. Adding more space for comments on appeal forms.
  4. Fresh Start program has not begun; students that qualify will be predetermined and The CCS will not need to recommend students to the program.
  5. Students that are not currently enrolled at QCC will be given options to seek counseling elsewhere for ex. NYC WELL

 

Additional Matters:

1. Gina Capozzoli suggested a meeting be held with the Director of counseling and Emiko Sanchez with Lisandra Rodriguez to better understand Counseling procedures for mental health appeals and support offered.  Gina Capozzoli reported she would suggest this to the Director of Counseling.
