The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Course & Standings met on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Room # A-104

Business:

The meeting was called to order at March 1, 2019 at 10:00 a.m


  • Looked over A Guide for Committee on Course and Standing Members

    Discussed new change of grade policy; Academic affairs will be notified after two years. After CCS will be notified.

    Pat Canale joined the meeting to discuss Academic Senate meeting. Spoke about proposed grade change policy and proposed academic fresh start policy. Considering changing the name to New Start instead of Fresh Start. Corrections need to be made to the policy.  Next steps will be process and contracts.

    The Provost office will decide if the criteria is met after two year period for change of grades.

    The Committee discussed having a protocol set up for students with mental health documentation to help protect their privacy.

    Committee split into 4 groups to review late withdrawals and retroactive withdrawals.

    A student appeal was picked up by the SSD office.

    The Committee discussed next month election for a new chair and secretary. New members will be invited to next meeting.

    Next meeting will be Friday, May 17, 2019 at 10:00am.
