The Academic Senate Committee on Committee on Admissions met on 3/14/25, 2pm, In-Person and Virtually
Committee Members in Attendance:
Dr. Sarbani Ghoshal - Biological Sciences & Geology
Kristen Hoffman - English Department (Secretary)
Aine O'Rourke Lobato- Admissions/Recruitment
Dr. Jannette Urciuoli – Counseling Center (Chair)
Dr. Sujun Wei – Chemistry Department
Liaisons in Attendance:
Elpha Farrier (representing Jankee Guzman who was out on leave) - Office of Admissions
Not in Attendance
Patricia Ramos - Director of Admissions
Business:
The meeting was called to order at 12:00pm
- Minutes from 12/16/24 meeting were approved unanimously prior to this meeting, over email.
- The meeting was called to order at 2:00pm.
- Jannette requested that Elpha amend the email that goes to students to reflect that the Repeat Policy applies across all CUNY schools.
- Sujun and Andre’s terms with the committee are ending. Andre is willing to serve another term. We will have at least one new member at the end of the summer. We will also vote for Chair and Secretary.
- The files for review will be forwarded from Admissions to the secretary at least one week prior to the scheduled meeting for organization prior to being sent to the committee.
- Academic Senate requested annual report be submitted by commencement. Our report can be submitted at that time with some numbers (from summer meeting) pending.
- Applications for readmission were reviewed.
- Kristen will email the committee a scheduling poll for late April or early May, when Jankee has applications for the committee to review.

The meeting was adjourned at 2:53 PM. Committee members worked for 3 hours reviewing applications asynchronously and 53 minutes to discuss applications as a group.
