Course Description in college catalog:
First semester of a one-year General Biology course for science majors. Evolution, structure of the cell, molecular basis of life, classical and modern genetics and molecular biology. Homeostatic control mechanisms, both intracellular and intercellular.

1. Identify and apply the fundamental concepts and methods of a life or physical science.

4. Gather, analyze, and interpret data and present it in an effective written laboratory or fieldwork report.
5. Identify and apply research ethics and unbiased assessment in gathering and reporting scientific data.

Lecture- 5 (50 minute/50 multiple choice question) exams
Laboratory- 5 exams (short answer, critical thinking, graphing, etc.) and 1 laboratory report.
