Two Queensborough Students Honored With 2016 Phi Theta Kappa Awards

A Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society event was recently held to recognize 77 community college students from the City University of New York (CUNY) and State University of New York (SUNY) who have received the 2016 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) All-New York Academic Awards. Of those recipients are two Queensborough students

Among the 7 CUNY community college PTK Award recipients was Queensborough with two winners, Yueli Chen and Yi (Jane) Jiang, who are both Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students majoring in Chemistry.

Ms. Chen and Ms. Jiang were also named Gold Scholars on Coca-Cola’s 2016 Community College Academic Team, which is supported by the PTK Society and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC). Yueli and Jane were among the highest scoring students from each of the 50 states, Canada, and each of the six sovereign nations where PTK chapters exist. PTK will announce New York’s 2016 New Century Scholar April 12.
