Mélida Sánchez, Assistant Professor of Spanish

Mélida Sánchez, Assistant Professor of Spanish. 

B.A. (Universidad del Atlántico, Colombia); M.A. (University of Arkansas, Fayetteville); Ph.D. (The Graduate Center, CUNY). Her research interests are focused on the Latin American literature produced in the nineteenth century with emphasis in the women writers’ works, and learning about language acquisition and pedagogy. She is the author of  Estudio y edición anotada de la prosa de Josefa Acevedo de Gómez (Pliegos, 2021), a critical and annotated edition of three works by said nineteenth-century Colombian writer.
