Dr. Pellegrino Manfra, Social Sciences, is an expert on globalization and international investments. In particular, his interest centers on the integration of the European Union and the emergence of the Euro as a leading currency in the world economy. His considerable knowledge of the Euro combines the study of economics with philosophy, psychology, education, finance, and law.
Born in Italy, Dr. Manfra grew up in New Rochelle, New York and became a member of the faculty at Queensborough Community College in 1989. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Modern Languages from Iona College; a Master’s in Science degree in Education from Long Island University; a Master’s in Business Administration from Iona College and a doctorate in International Economics from Fordham University.
Dr. Manfra, the author of more than 150 published articles, recently presented two of his scholarly works at Harvard University: Cicero’s Concept of ‘Liberal Arts’ and its Influence on The American Education System; and Moral Decadence, Decay and Hazard: Causes of Current Financial Crisis. Several of his articles have been presented at academic and international professional conferences and symposia. His work has also been published in academically recognized journals such as Global Business & Economics Review, Journal of Entrepreneurship and Finance, Northeast Decision Sciences Institute Review, New England Business and Economics Association Review, Pennsylvania Economic Association Proceedings and the International Atlantic Economic Review.
Dr. Manfra’s research has extended into physics, particularly Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. He presented an article at Pratt Institute: An Analysis and Structure on Einstein’s Concept of Time. In addition, he has published several articles on the Euro, globalization and investment in both the Financial Times and Business Week publications.
