Teaching and Research:

Originally from Long Island and a proud product of community college education, I joined Queensborough Community College in 2024. My teaching and research focus on trauma-informed writing pedagogy, embodied rhetorics, and student-centered approaches to composition. I specialize in exploring how mind-body integration and narrative inquiry can support student voice and academic success, particularly for students with histories of trauma or marginalization.

Before coming to QCC, I taught at Suffolk County Community College, Stony Brook University, and SUNY Old Westbury, where I designed and taught first-year writing, technical writing, and literature courses. I also served as Writing Program Director at Five Towns College and worked for many years as a professional writing tutor in writing centers. My approach to teaching is deeply informed by this work, blending equity-driven pedagogy with practical skill-building and reflective inquiry.

Alongside my academic work, I spent over a decade in the fashion and media industries in marketing communications for companies such as Nickelodeon, Apple, & Amazon. My experience in visual storytelling and digital communication continues to shape my classroom practices, where I incorporate multimodal and professional writing assignments to prepare students for real-world audiences and diverse rhetorical contexts.
