Monthly Report of the Committee on Committees for March 2023
I. March 24, 2023 Meeting
On March 24, the Committee on Committee met via Zoom. Present were the following members: Danny Sexton, Chair; Julian Stark, Secretary; Isabella Lizzul; Hamid Namdar; Susan Riekert; and Paul Sideris. The main business of the meeting was to discuss the nomination of faculty members to serve on various standing committees of the academic senate. On March 21, the chair sent via email an Excel Spreadsheet with his recommendations for the committees. During the meeting, the C on C discuss those recommendations, approved them with a few minor changes, and clarified the deadline for notifying the secretary of the Academic Senate of the ballots and confirming when the Academic Senate would meet to vote on the recommendations. II. Standing Committees Resignations and Vacancies Filled
a. Crystal Moscat (Academy Advisement) left the college leaving a vacancy on the Committee on Environment, Quality of Life, and Disability Issues. The C on C voted on March 1 affirmatively for Edward Diller (Health, Physical Education and Dance) to complete her term, which will end in 2025.
III. Upcoming Business
a. Chair Danny Sexton would work on finalizing the ballot to send to the Secretary of the Academic Senate and if any changes needed to be made to the recommendations, an email to the C on C members will be sent to elicit their thoughts and votes on any changes.
