Website Committee


The Web Site is the backbone for the College’s teaching, learning and administrative functions and acts as a major catalyst for the delivery of information within the college community and among its external constituencies. The Web Site, now numbering more than 9000 pages, has become an increasingly critical component of all institutional communications.

A College committee established by the President oversees the policies, standards, and practices of the web site. The committee is chaired by the Executive Director of Marketing & Communications and includes as standing members the Director of the Academic Computing Center (ACC), the Director of Institutional Technology, and the Communications Marketing Director of Web Servers (College’s Webmaster), designees from the Academic Senate Committees for Publications, Distance Learning and Computer Resources, faculty representatives named by the Faculty Executive Committee and student representatives.

The College has adopted a common template for all major pages of the site. However, each department within the College may incorporate a specific message or “brand” in the far right hand side of the template. Each area is responsible not only for the content of their primary web pages, but for any graphic images or layout features as well. Departments, through a designated Web Coordinator, work directly with the Webmaster.
