During the Fall 2018 and the spring 2019 semesters the Committee on Publications met four times:

  1. Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at 4pm-5pm in Medical Art building room M209.
  2. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 1pm – 2pm in Medical Art building room M209.
  3. Friday, March 15, 2019 at 11am – 11:45am in Medical Art building room M209.
  4. Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10am – 11am in Medical Art building room M209.

Major Tasks Accomplished:

1- During the summer of 2018, The former chair Frank Edward resigned from the college without submission of annual report for the 2017-2018 academic year, then Mohammad Javdan decided to continue the unfinished activity within the publication committee, the main activity was web checking for dead links to web Services, and to find any errors or typos.

Seven pages report will be given to David Moretti for correction of web site.

2- During the spring semester of 2018-2019, the Committee Collaborated with Web Services to host a workshop to provide faculty with detailed instruction on how to create their own departmental web pages and/or personal web pages. Web Service decided to collaborate with Web Masters of the departments and organize the joined workshop with the publication Committee.

3- The Committee was reviewed the different departments' webpages during the 2018-2019 academic year to nominate the best and most improved webpage by using the same rubric which has been used in 2017 – 2018. Each committee member scored 15 departments, The members were not allowed to score their own departments. Mohammad tabulated the scores. The Business and Engineering departments won awards for the best and most improved webpages, respectively. Dave Moretti will be announcing the award through the QCC homepage.

1. The committee recommendations:

  • Keeping copies of the handbooks on the committee website.

  • investigating whether the handbooks satisfy the ADA mandate in format and content.

2. Since Mohammad Javdan and Chukwudi Ikwueze have already served their 3 year terms, there was an election for chairperson and secretary during May 20, 2019. Aviva Geismar was elected as the chairperson and Dolores Weber was elected a the secretary of the committee.

The Committee welcomes two new members: Dolores Weber and Kerri Ann Smith, the committee thanks Departing Members: Chukwudi Ikwueze , Mohammad Javdan.
