  • Earned 15 or more CUNY Queensborough Community College credits (transfer credits not included)
  • Be a matriculated student (enrolled in a degree program)

Students are sent an e-mail through Tigermail and/or invitation letter via USPS advising them of their eligibility to join the honor society a week after the start of every Fall and Spring semester. If you never received an invitation, but meet the eligibility requirements listed above, please print the application, fill it out completely, and return it to the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs, located in the Library Building, Room 412, where you will receive further instructions. A one-time, lifetime, membership fee of $65 (either by check or money order made payable to "PTK/QCC") must accompany your completed application.

Please note, the last day to become a member during the Fall 2017 semester is December 20, 2017!

Scholarships and Grants

Lambda Sigma Chapter members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society currently enrolled at QCC are advised to visit the official Phi Theta Kappa website at www.ptk.org/scholarships.aspx for current and upcoming scholarship offerings. Dr. Emily Tai and/or Dr. Paris Svoronos will also update members via e-mail of upcoming scholarship opportunities so, it is a good practice to make sure the e-mail address you provided on your membership application is a current address that you are still using.  As a Queensborough student, you are strongly advised to regularly monitor your Tigermail account as well for scholarship opportunities from the College, CUNY, and external organizations.
