Teaching philosophy:
I believe in helping students to interrogate texts, write to question, and discover reasons for the existence of their own texts.

Research Interests:
Fiction, the essay, and media studies.

Publications and Activities:
My chapbook of stories, A Modicum of Mankind, is published by Nortre Maar, and my novel, The World Out There, has just come out from Madville Publishing. My fiction and essays have appeared or are forthcoming in Ploughshares, Juked, Riddle Fence, Ambit, Grain, The Literary Review, and Potomac Review among many others. I am a frequent contributor to Film International and on the editorial board of Green Hills Literary Lantern.
