Dr. Kip Montgomery

Dr. Montgomery utilizes his considerable organizational and administrative talents to unite the multi-faceted Music Department at QCC into a cohesive, thriving unit. An energetic presence in the classroom, he has earned a reputation among the students for making his lectures both fun and interesting, while presenting the material with great insight and clarity.

Dr. Montgomery holds a Bachelor's degree in music from Carleton College (Northfield, MN), a Master's degree in music theory from Indiana University (Bloomington), and a Master's degree and Ph. D. in music history from SUNY-Stony Brook, where he completed a dissertation on cyclic form in the music of Johannes Brahms.
