Opening - The third meeting of fall 2023 CUNY/Queensborough Community College Committee on Computer Resources was called to order on time on 12:33 PM November 29, 2023.

  • Approve previous meeting minutes

        October 23, 2023 meeting minutes was approved by unanimous vote.

 

  • CCR Homepage and CCR 2023 annual report
  1. Ron is still working on editing the homepage
  2. Committee members will make suggestions on the content and topics that should be included in the CCR 2023 annual report.

 

  • E-learning committee update
  1. After Junggu’s discussion with the E-learning committee, this committee has decided to focus on carrying out our plan first. We may reach out to them again when we have a plan or proposal to collaborate with them in the future.

 

  • Committee Newsletter
  1. Anuradha will ask marketing management about the newsletter template
  2. Topics that might be useful for future newsletter: a). Information on upcoming cyber security workshops. b). How faculty members are utilizing technologies in teaching after pandemic.

 

  •  Update on student committee members
  1. Anuradha will reach out to Gisela Rivera, Director of Student Leadership & Development, and ask student organization members and club officers/ members to consider becoming a student representative on our committee.

 

  • Brightspace transition update
  1. Anuradha will reach out to Punita Bhansali and discuss the possibility of doing an interview with her.

 

  • Technology plan & fees
  1. Committee members will try to find contact information and get detailed about the spending of technology fees.
  2. Committee members will locate the annual report regarding all the technologies and hardware available on QCC campus.
  3. Plan a survey and compare the result to the report of technologies and hardware list available on campus. Survey topics: a). The technologies that faculty members and students know and use frequently on campus. b). The computer hardware that faculty members and students frequently access and use on campus

 

  • 2024 CCR meeting schedule and location
       Committee members will make a decision after the spring 2024 teaching schedules are issued.

 

  • Adjournment

       Meeting was adjourned at 1:46 PM.
