Crochet is a delightful and soothing craft that offers you the opportunity to create beautiful handmade items, all with just a crochet hook and a ball of yarn.

In this beginner-friendly class, you will be introduced to the fundamental techniques of crochet, including how to hold your hook, and make basic stitches. With step-by-step guidance, you'll gain the skills and confidence needed to embark on your crochet journey and bring your creative visions to life.

This guidance and method of exercise includes a warm-up to help loosen your muscles and joints while focusing on your breathing. It features sets of low-impact movements designed to improve mobility, flexibility, muscle strength, and circulation.

Bring a towel, wear confortable shoes and clothing.

Easy Tai Chi II is an extension of the gentle exercises taught in Easy Tai chi. Once you have learned the movements, you can practice them at home. This form of exercise is excellent for healing, maintaining health, and self-defense. Tai Chi positively impacts muscles, balance, and strength without being strenuous.

Students will develop and practice the necessary vocabulary and skills to complete a simple hand-knitted project. Students will learn how to cast on, work the garter stitch, and bind off stitches. We will start with the knit and purl stitches, which are the foundation of all knitting projects. Students can follow a sample or use their creativity and imagination to develop their unique project. A beginner project can create a cozy scarf or a small blanket.

Please bring the following supplies on the first day of class:

10 inches long U.S. knitting needles size 9 or size 10.

6 - 8oz of 4-ply yarn - the color of your choice.

A bag for your knitting.

This class is designed for those who have completed the beginner oil pastel class,

We will explore new possibilities through methods of depicting landscapes, still lifes, and famous paintings.

Students will practice various expressions by mixing oil pastels with other materials gaining the essential drawing skills and experience.

In this workshop, through engaging playwritingexercises, writers will explore how breaking away from traditional forms can ignite their imagination, allowing them to embrace the chaos of a first draft as a valuable part of the creative process rather than something to discard. This workshop is designed to encourage clarity in storytelling while helping participants unearth new play ideas from the depths of their subconscious.

The workshop is open to all skill levels

Adolescent/Pre-Teen Swim(Ages 7-14)

This class is for everyone. From beginners to experienced Yogi's.

Flow and Restore plus Core. Focus is on Abs. and Core. We will warm up, practice breathing, stretching, do some standing poses. Work on balance, steadiness, and flexibility, in a safe and fun way. Using props(yoga strap and 2 yoga blocks) one will learn how to incorporate these into the practice.

Come, relax, recharge, feel invigorated and uplifted.

PROPS NEEDED - A Yoga mat, 2 yoga blocks and a yoga strap.

This class introduces Social Ballroom Dancing. Learn dance moves that will give you confidence to dance. Also introduces will be Smooth dances and Latin dances. All levels of dancers welcome, from beginner to advanced. Please wear closed-toe, non-slip comfortable shoes. No sneakers.

Please note: Street shoes cannot be worn in the classroom. The room is equipped with cubbies, where street shoes and personal items can be stored.

This course introduces the fundamentals of accurate drawing and

rendering three-dimensional forms on a two-dimensional surface.

Materials:

Graphic media includes: 2B pencil, charcoal, and pen and ink.

Students will make an intensive study of line, contour, gesture, space.

and shape, perspective, and principles of foreshortening.

In addition, the class will include the study of value, light, texture,

and explore problems in design awareness.

Learn the poses that are essential for a complete Yoga practice. Link movement with Breath.

We will explore a vinyasa flow, using the warrior series with several variations. Also a focus on balance and strengthening the core. Strong core equals a strong practice.

Rediscover the pencil of your childhood and take it to the next level. Learn how to draw with this exciting medium, explore value intensity, color temperature, complementary colors, form shadow, reflected shadow, and more.

Art supplies:

Pencil 2B, SOFT Prisma color or Spectra Color pencil set, Strathmore drawing pad, ruler, tracing paper, eraser, (electric or battery operated is best) sharpener, erasing shield, desk brush, colorless blender.

Students are responsible for materials.

Build on your knowledge of working with color pencils. Further explore value intensity, color temperature, complementary colors, form shadow, reflected shadow, and more while learning to draw beautiful colored pencil portraits step by step. You will learn scumbling, edges, creating darks, impressed lines, burnishing, lifting, layering, to build rich colors, creating believable skin tones, learning the importance of composition, and more. You will be drawing using reference photos.

Art supplies:

Pencil 2B, SOFT Prisma color or Spectra Color pencil set, Strathmore or other good quality drawing pad, ruler, tracing paper, eraser, (electric or battery operated is best) sharpener, erasing shield, desk brush, colorless blender.

YOGALATES is a perfect blend of Yoga and Pilates. It strengthens the core while stretching and moving the body using both Yoga and Pilates—the best of both worlds. In this class, we will use a yoga mat, two yoga blocks, and a yoga strap.

• Learn the fundamentals of the language, including pronunciation, basic grammar, and essential vocabulary.

• PINYIN --- the system used to represent Mandarin sounds

• Common greetings, introductions, and simple phrases for everyday situations

• Basic sentence structures and question forms

• Students will practice listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, gradually building their confidence to engage in simple conversations.

All Pickleball levels (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced) are welcome to register. Proper athletic clothing and footwear(sneakers) is required.

***Pickleballs will be supplied, paddles can be supplied, although it is suggested that Participants bring their own paddles***

Pickleball Social Play
Pickleball Social Play is an event where people play Pickleball, socialize and learn the game. It is a great way to meet new people and learn the game. Pickleball Social Play can include networking, casual conversations and games.

How Pickleball Social Play Works:

Social Play - Players rotate between courts and players and meet new people.

Open Play - Players of all skill levels play separately (Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced). Players also rotate between courts and players and meet new people.

Official Pickleball rules and scoring will be discussed. Pickleball advanced techniques and strategies will be introduced. Proper athletic clothing and footwear(sneakers) is required.

***Pickleballs will be supplied, paddles can be supplied, although it is suggested that Participants bring their own paddles***

Students will continue building on previous knowledge of using acrylic paints. They will learn to use glazes, how to make various textures, composition and continue learning how to mix colors. Students will be given encouragement, constructive criticism, and technical advice while learning painting vocabulary.

Materials: Artist quality Liquatex acrylic set, two round Taklon brushes # 1 & # 7, and a flat #3/4" brush, palette, a natural sponge, container for water, paper towels, B4 pencil, scrap paper for sketching and either heavy drawing or watercolor paper (pad, 11"x15"), canvas paper, or canvas.

Focusing on the second limbs of yoga: Niyama's ( 5 personal practices; purity, contentment, austerity, self-study, and surrender)

In this workshop for beginners and intermediate levels, you will get a taste of how to create the most astonishing watercolors, using techniques ranging from dry into dry, wet into wet and wet into dry. You will also learn about color and composition and some texturing. Students will familiarize themselves with brushes, water color paper and various tools for painting

Materials needed:

Bring your good artist quality (Winsor Newton or Grumbacher ) watercolor set, two round sable brushes # 1 & # 7, (Yarka, Arches, Kolinsky) an angled Taklon brush thumb nail size and a flat brush #3/4 ", paper towels, a natural sponge, container for water, B4 pencil, scrap paper for sketching and Arches cold press watercolor paper (pad, about 11"x15"). For texturing, bring spray bottle, kitchen salt, rubbing alcohol, and doily.

You will paint a still life, a landscape, and a person.
