Advanced Watercolor Class

In this class, students will build on their previous knowledge of painting with watercolors. They will create compositions while exploring the works of Winslow Homer (1836–1910), one of the greatest American artists and watercolor masters of his time, as well as John Singer Sargent (1856–1925), a highly popular artist known for his desire to elevate watercolors and demonstrate that they are complete works of art in their own right.

**Materials Needed:**

- Pencil (2B)

- Watercolor set (Yarka, Van Gogh, or similar)

- Round brushes (fingernail size) and 1-inch flat brush

- Water containers

- Paper towels

- Watercolor paper
