2024-2025 school year

Kindergarten class: Focus on learning Mandarin pronunciation, simple characters, phrases and short sentences. Stories, games, and activities are included in the classroom instructions.

Regular Chinese Class: Focus on learning and reviewing Pinyin, characters, phrases, sentences and paragraphs. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing will be emphasized through the learning of texts. About 85% of the instruction is conducted in Mandarin Chinese.

CSL class: Designed for children from non-Mandarin speaking families. The development of communication skills in listening and speaking will be emphasized. Reading skills will be developed by reading phrases, sentences and short paragraphs. Writing skills will be gradually increased as the children become more confident in their ability to use Mandarin.

Students will spend their time in this class being creative and enhancing their social skills. In class, different materials are used such as tissue paper, felt, buttons, pipe cleaners, watercolor paint, tempura paint along with crayons, markers and colored pencils to create fun themed art projects. Many times, holiday and special event art will be done to support calendar events and cultural occasions. The class also enhances socialization skills as children are encouraged to borrow materials from other students, discuss ideas and actively ask questions and share their work with teachers and the class.

Enhanced sills include cutting, pasting, creativity, design, color matching, fine motor skills, social skills, decisions making, group sharing and having a lot of fun! Reguired age: 5 and up.

The class will cover all phases of the fascinating and stimulating game of chess, teaching new skills and taking the students to a new level of expertise. The class format is divided between approximately 30 min of lesson time and 30 min of supervised practice. The instructor will be monitoring and evaluating these games, teaching them to correct mistakes, and giving helpful pointers throughout to help improve their overall game. Required age: 6 and up

The clay doll making class offers multiple benefits for children, including fostering creativity, developing sensory skills, promoting social interactions, and facilitating learning. Using special light clay dough, students can create a wide range of figures, animals, food items, or any other objects they find interesting, enriching their play experiences and holistic development.

Students will learn the basic and simple drawing techniques and follow the instructor to draw the major parts. After that, each child needs to create their own art works by adding colors, backgrounds, and details, through which to express themselves and show us the world in their eyes. Required age: 5 and 6
