Queensborough's Class of '25 Graduation Ceremony

Queensborough Community College’s 64th Annual Commencement Ceremony will take place in-person (rain or shine) on Thursday, May 29, 2025 at 10:00 am on the Queensborough Athletic Field.

Graduates can reserve up to four (4) guest tickets. Also, each graduate must have one (1) separate graduate ticket for themself.

The ceremony will be livestreamed beginning at 10:00 am EST online at www.qcc.cuny.edu/commencement.

All available parking lots on campus will be open for graduates and their guests to park their vehicle on a first come-first served basis.

There is no rehearsal for the ceremony.

The ceremony will last two (2) hours.

Graduation candidates will receive an email to their Office365 QCC student email and/or CUNYfirst preferred email inviting them to participate in the ceremony. The email will contain a link to RSVP on Eventbrite for the ceremony and a separate link to order your cap & gown online.

Graduates who were not able to order their cap & gown online by the Thursday, May 15 can purchase it in-person beginning Wednesday, May 28 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and Thursday, May 29 from 8:00 am - 10:00 am in the Student Union Building - Upper Level. The cost is $57.52 and contactless is the required form of payment (cash, check, or money order will not be accepted)!

Class of 2025 graduates who are a part of the ASAP Program will receive their cap & gown free of charge. These students will receive an email from the ASAP Department to complete a form and reserve their regalia for pick up/distribution at a later date.

All graduates who wish to participate in this year’s ceremony must purchase and wear a cap & gown during the ceremony.

All graduates who attend the ceremony in-person will have their name called as they walk across the stage.

The QCC Office of Graduation Audit will identify students who have met/will meet the requirements for graduation and process an application on their behalf. Therefore, you do not have to apply. Send an email to Commencement@qcc.cuny.edu and include your full name and 8-digit student ID number. We will confer with the Office of Graduation Audit to verify candidacy for graduation. If you are, we will send you an invitation for the ceremony to your CUNYfirst preferred email address.

Students who plan to complete their remaining degree requirements during the summer 2025 semester and wish to participate in the May 29 ceremony must do the following: 

1. Consult your academic adviser about your remaining degree requirements (you can also check your DegreeWorks dashboard) to see if they can be completed during the summer ‘25 semester.

2. If your adviser agrees that you can complete your remaining degree requirements during the summer ‘25 semester, you must register for those courses no later than Thursday, May 8, 2025.

3. After registering, email Ms. Ingrid Jaramillo Estrella at IJaramilloEstrella@qcc.cuny.edu. The email should include your full name, 8-digit EMPL ID# and a brief message indicating your plan to complete your remaining degree requirements during the summer ‘25 semester and desire to participate in the May 29 ceremony. Ms. Jaramillo Estrella will verify your enrollment and, if eligible, your graduation status will be updated in CUNYfirst and you will be put on a list to receive an invitation to the ceremony.

Graduates will receive a digital copy of their diploma 3-4 months after their degree conferral date from Parchment Services to their CUNYfirst preferred email address. 3-4 weeks after, a physical diploma will be mailed via USPS to your CUNYfirst home address. Please make sure your name, preferred email, and home address are accurate/up to date in CUNYfirst so, you can receive your diploma in a timely manner. As a reminder, your legal name will appear on your diploma - not your preferred name.
