Instructions for test 2
|

|
|

You must be using web browser
software that supports file attachments (i.e. Netscape
4.0 or higher, or Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher) to
complete Test 2.
Instructions for students who
may not be familiar with uploading or attaching a
file. Please review or print these instructions, then
return to the previous web page to complete the test.
1. You will need a file that you can upload for
Test 2. Either create a file or use an existing file
you may have on your computer's hard drive or on a
floppy disk. A word processed document file with text
only is the best type of file to use for Test 2.
a. If you don't have a file ready to upload, then
switch from your web browser to your word processor
(e.g., Word or WordPerfect.). Create a five-page
document, save it, and exit the word processor
application. Be sure to note the location where you
saved the file on your hard drive. You can use the
word processed file from Test 1.
2. Open the online assignment form by clicking the
"Test 2: Create Assignment and submit as a file
attachment" link at the bottom of the Test 2 web
page.
3. Follow the directions on the assignment form to
attach your file.
On the assignment form, you must --
a. Designate the file format of your document from the
menu of choices provided. Or select "NOT ON
LIST" and indicate the word processor you used to
create the file.
b. Click the Browse button
to locate and select your test file.
Depending on which web browser software you are using
(i.e. Netscape, Internet Explorer), a "File
upload" or "Choose file" window will
appear. This window will help you locate the file on
your hard drive and complete the file upload process.
You may need to change the 'Look in' field to the
drive where you saved your file. Also, be sure the
'Files of type:' field states "All files"
instead of "HTML".
c. Locate and select your test file so its name
appears in the "File name" field. Then click
'Open'. The path to your test file will appear in the
box next to the Browse button. Submit the assignment
form.
4. After submitting the form, you should receive a
confirmation screen within a minute stating that the
submission has been sent to the web site. Use the link
that confirmation screen to see your submitted
assignment posted on the 'Test Your System' page.
a. If you do not receive a confirmation screen, you
may be experiencing problems with your Internet
connection. Return to the Test Your System page and
Refresh/Reload the page to see if your test posted.
You should contact your ISP to determine why you are
not communicating properly with the QCC web site.
5. Find your posting on the Test Your System page,
click to open your posting and verify that you
submitted a file attachment "assignment" to
the web site.

Click your browser's BACK
button to return to previous screen
