TRAINING DESCRIPTION

Queensborough Community College, in partnership with the NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS) and the Mayor's Office for Media and Entertainment (MOME), will offer the Made in NY Media Academy Music Production Bootcamp Training Program. The Music Production Bootcamp is an innovative training opportunity that combines music production techniques with hands-on experience in recording studio environments. It equips participants with the skills needed for careers in the music and recording industries. Graduates can pursue employment in commercial recording studios, live recording venues, radio and broadcast networks, and with manufacturers serving the music production field.

The main objective of the Music Production Bootcamp Training Program is to provide participants entry into music production employment opportunities in NYC by providing a strong foundation in the Audio Recording Arts and Sciences. Participants gain practical skills in music production, mixing, sound design, and more — using up-to-date, industry-

standard software. Additionally, participants will be trained on synthesizers for music production, learning to operate an electronic music synthesizer, integrate custom sounds into music composition, and create melodies and rhythms. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from Queensborough Community College, as well as Pro Tools 101 certification.

TRAINING COMPONENTS:

Music Production Certification (10–12 weeks)

PARTICIPANT ELIGIBILITY

Participants must:

· Be a NYC resident

· Be 18+ years old

· Be authorized to work in the U.S.

· Be Selective Service compliant (if applicable)

· Have high school diploma or HSE

· Have annual income less than $60,000 (if currently employed)

· Provide documentation for all eligibility criteria

· Show commitment to working in the music production field

· Show commitment to traveling to Queensborough Community College for in-person training

· Commitment to training schedule, sessions on 2 weekday evenings, and a session on Saturday (No more than 3 unexcused absences)

CASE MANAGEMENT & SUPPORT

Participants receive:

· Post-training follow-up until employment
