With so much work still to be done to meet Puerto Rico’s critical humanitarian needs, our College community is offering support with a Campus Collection Center. The Center is now open on the Concourse Level of the Medical Arts Building, Room 38. If you wish to contribute, the following items will be collected beginning Wednesday, October 4 through Friday, October 6; and Tuesday, October 10 through Friday, October 13. The center will be open from 8:30 am-4:00 pm:
Cases of Water
Feminine Hygiene Products
We are unable to accept food or other items not on the above list per the request of relief agencies/centers.
We are actively seeking faculty and staff volunteers to help at the center. Please contact Queensborough’s Disaster Relief Coordinator, Dr. Brian Kerr at Bkerr@qcc.cuny.edu to sign up.
As announced by the Governor, the CUNY community can also support the people of Puerto Rico as well as those in the U. S. Virgin Islands and Mexico by volunteering at or contributing to one of the following organizations:
We empathize with the people of Puerto Rico as well as those in the U. S. Virgin Islands and Mexico who now struggle just to return to a semblance of normalcy; and for many in our College community, being far from their families during these tragic situations is a very trying experience. Please remember that our Counseling Center is always available to provide personal support and other free resources for members of the college community. Information about additional services for QCC employees is available through the CUNY Work/Life Program.
Let us all contribute in any way we can to bring relief to those who so desperately need our help.
