Upon meeting transfer admission requirements, applicants will be required to complete an interview and, if accepted, will transfer with junior standing into the DMI program. Students who transfer from QCC to SOHP are expected to adhere to general academic policies and procedures required for admission to the SOHP, and to fulfill any particular requirements (regarding GPA, prerequisites, clinical experience, etc.) that may be in place for certain academic programs at the SOHP. SOHP's Bulletin and Student Handbook specifies, in detail, all relevant policies and procedures. After receiving the application materials, the DMI program will select candidates to interview. Following the interview, SOHP's Admissions Committee, in accordance with the standards of SUNY Downstate, will offer conditional acceptance to candidates that have been selected, based on a review of the application materials and an interview. To qualify for conditional admission to SOHP, candidates must have demonstrated academic credentials, motivation, and personal qualities, which give evidence of their suitability for a career in the health professions, specifically success in the DMI program.

All students who have earned the specified A.S. degree at QCC will be waived of the lower-level general education/core requirements at SOHP. Students will take the additional liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) requirements as part of the DMI curriculum.

Additional Notes: All students must successfully complete two (2) writing-intensive classes (designated "WI") at Queensborough Community College to fulfill degree requirements.
