General Guidance

As CUNY continues to prepare for the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19), a respiratory illness causing flu-like symptoms, it is important to gather facts, take preventative measures and chart the best course forward. Only by anticipating and planning for a wide range of scenarios, and taking appropriate precautions, can we alleviate the fears that often arise in such times of uncertainty.

CUNY is actively tracking all of the guidance it has been receiving from the NYC DOH and the New York State Department of Health to proactively manage the risk associated with 2019-CoV. The CUNY Health Services directors were also asked to contact their respective international student offices and study abroad programs to encourage them to check the CDC and NYC DOH websites for updates.

In response to additional requests for guidance in this matter, our office has compiled the following list of online resources, recommended travel guidelines, and frequently asked questions.
