Site Safety Training (SST)/ OSHA

In New York City, Local Law 196 of 2017 (LL196) requires that workers and supervisors receive safety training if their sites designate a construction supervisor, site safety coordinator, or site safety manager. Once fully phased-in on March 1, 2021, this law mandates that workers at certain worksites receive 40 hours of safety training.

Fall Prevention 8-Hour Course
Each year, thousands of construction workers are injured on the job due to falls. To help reduce these incidents and enhance job site safety, New York City';s Department of Buildings (NYC DOB) created additional fall hazard standards to supplement those established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). 8-Hour Fall Prevention for Construction course provides extensive training on fall hazard identification, evaluation, prevention, and more to adhere to all federal and NYC Local Law 196 regulations regarding worksite falls.
NOTICE: New York City Local Law 196 (LL196) of 2017 specifies that, as part of the course requirements for 8-Hour Fall Prevention, trainees demonstrate wearing generic fall protection equipment.
Our training program is approved by the NYC Department of Buildings to satisfy the Site Safety Training (SST) requirements. However, we recommend that employees work with their employers to ensure that trainees taking this course have the opportunity to put on, take off, and safely use the protective equipment required for use on the job, learn about other project specific fall protection and ask questions specific to the project.
