Student Email Procedures
Tiger ID Account
Tigermail will still be available through the fall semester. The email addresses are all in the form email@example.com.
Please note: Electronic mail is not appropriate for transmitting sensitive or confidential information.
All email accounts have a limit of 200 MB. A warning email will be sent when an account reaches 190 MB. Accounts which have reached the limit of 200MB will not be able to send or receive email.
Tiger ID Username:
Your Username is the first initial of your first name plus your full last name plus the last two digits of your social security number.
For example if your name is John Doe and your Social Security Number is 123-45-6789 your username will be JDOE89
Please note: If your name has an apostrophe or a hyphen it has been removed.
Tiger ID Password:
Prior to using your Tiger ID account, you need to set your password.
How to Login
If you have Windows (any version):
Open your browser, go to https://tigermail.qcc.cuny.edu and type your login information as follows:
- Username: JDOE89
- Password: 456789
SmartPhones and Tigermail
Your Tiger ID account may be received on certain smartphones in accordance with the instructions linked below. We provide guidance for Motorola-manufactured android phones; and the Apple iPhone.
Note: the instructions depend on the manufacturer of the phone rather than the carrier, such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, or T-Mobile.
The instructions also presume that you will have a cellular connection. You cannot get your Tiger ID if you have only a wireless connection. Therefore if your phone is set to locate a wireless connection, change the setting to off. Please note that if you are asked to log-in to the QCC network by entering your email ID, your phone is set to locate a wireless connection and this function should be turned to off.
Tiger ID Password
You can create a new password if you forgot your old password. Click on the "Create Personal Tiger ID Password" link on the TigerID log-in page.
If you receive the following message, "Contact Tiger ID helpdesk (718) 631-6348, if you continue to experience problems changing your password", you have tried to use a password already stored in the system. The Tiger ID system saves your last 6 passwords so you will have to try a new password in this case.
If you have difficulty logging on call 718-631-6348 Monday thru Friday between 9am and 5pm.
