Provide support for educational technology in all English Department computer-supported classrooms. Supervise computer classrooms during open hours so students may utilize software required to complete assignments. Conduct workshops for faculty and students to familiarize them with hardware and software incorporated into Department pedagogy. Assist faculty and students during class time to implement technological pedagogy in classes offering projects such as digital storytelling and journalism.
Maintain PC and Mac hardware and software in the classrooms and support the general administration of classroom technology in smart podium equipped locations as well as Smartcart and DVD setup. Support maintenance of the department's instructional activities with regard to student communications as conveyed through web pages, Blackboard sites, and podcasts. Keep track of the department's inventory of technology. May require lifting or moving equipment and/or supplies. Evening and weekend hours required.
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years’ experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years’ experience.
- Good interpersonal, communication, organizational, and technical skills
- Fluency in Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Insight, and use of Blackboard and Epsilen systems as well as Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, and XP
- Expertise with maintenance of technology equipment
- Understanding of technological pedagogy
- Experience in a college environment
Commensurate with experience.
