Career Services Internship Opportunities


Description: The qualified candidate(s) will be matriculated students at an accredited university or college, interested in furthering their knowledge and understanding of careers in the fine arts world, nonprofit management and/or event planning with multiple partners. Interns will be trained in the history of the event and how to present the exhibitions to park/gallery visitors. Trainers will include representatives from MoMA/PS1, RAA and the National Park Service. Training will include educating the interns about the artwork and installations; history of and programs in Fort Tilden and Jamaica Bay; background and programs of RAA and MoMA/PS1 and arts and culture in Rockaway. Interns will be supervised by a Board or Key Staff Member from RAA at all shifts. Intern responsibilities will include greeting the public; sharing information obtained in training Fort Tilden, Gateway National Recreation Area & Rockaway Point, Queens, NY

About the Company: ROCKAWAY! is a large-scale free public art festival hosted by the National Park Service and created through a collaboration between Rockaway Artists Alliance (RAA) and MoMA PS1, an internationally acclaimed contemporary art organization based in Queens, NY.
